Hello, my name is Delicia Your “d’lighted” Doula although many know me affectionately as "Momma D," a name I've earned through my work as a program coordinator and advocate for youth and parents in my community.  With over 20 years of experience as a retired employee of the city of Los Angeles, I have always sought a deeper connection with the people around me. As a mother of four and a grandmother of three, my life has been enriched by family, though I've also borne the heartache of losing my first-born daughter.  Coming from a family with a strong legacy in nursing, I've held several positions in the medical field. However, I've always been naturally drawn to holistic healing. The stories I've heard of home births within my family fascinated me and fostered my interest in community birthing practices. 

As both a philanthropist and an entrepreneur, I own a company “Better Body Butta” dedicated to creating natural products like shea butter oils, herbal remedies, and goat milk soaps. My passion lies in healing through nature, avoiding reliance on medicines or over-the-counter solutions whenever possible.  My career journey has included roles such as a CNA, LVN, and phlebotomist, yet nothing enchants me more than the path of natural healing. I'm also an author of three books dedicated to supporting abused women, underscoring my commitment to being a resourceful advocate for my community.  In pursuing the roles of a Community Birthing and Postpartum Doula, I am eager to combine my love for natural healing and community service, offering support and guidance that positively impacts families during their transformative journeys.
